Johannesburg - A 22-year-old man arrested for allegedly circumcising his younger brother has been granted bail, Eastern Cape police said on Wednesday.
Spokesperson Captain Jackson Manatha said Xolisa Tshaka was granted R500 bail when he appeared in the Nqgamakhwe Magistrate's Court on Monday.
His case was postponed to November 23.
Tshaka was arrested on Friday in Dudumashe Village near Nqgamakhwe for contravening the Circumcision Act when he allegedly illegally circumcised his 18-year-old brother.
Manatha said Tshaka's mother heard a scream from the kraal and called local men who found the brothers engaged in the illegal circumcision.
The brother was recuperating in Butterworth hospital.
