Concern over acting SABC execs
Cape Town - The Standing Committee on Public Accounts (Scopa) on Wednesday raised concern over the number of acting senior executive positions at the SA Broadcasting Corporation, the public broadcaster reported.
The concern was raised when the SABC board appeared before the committee in Parliament to discuss its annual report following the Auditor General's special investigation report into the corporation's affairs.
The only acting position filled so far is that of the group executive of news and current affairs.
"I realised alarmingly that you have an acting group CEO, an acting CEO... it leaves me in Hollywood where we have all these actors," ANC member of the committee Mandla Mbili was quoted saying.
"Tell me then going forward how you are going to have systems in place and when are you going to stop being film stars and actors?" Mbili asked.
