Johannesburg - African National Congress provincial chairperson Paul Mashatile on Sunday called the Democratic Alliance a confused organisation.

"Any organisation that does not know who its president is, is already defeated," he said.

Mashatile was speaking in Sharpeville where the Young Communist League of SA was celebrating its 10th anniversary.

He urged supporters to rally behind the ANC and ensure victory in the upcoming elections. They should trample on the DA.

"Run DA run. Especially now that they are confused because they don't know who is their president. They are trying to buy one," he said.

Ready

Mashatile told the party's deputy secretary general Jesse Duarte that Gauteng was ready for the elections and would ensure the party emerged victorious.

He said the ANC had delivered in the past 20 years and would continue to do so.

He encouraged volunteers to take part in voter registration.

"Let's hold hands and move forward and ensure we beat these parties. Volunteers, let's go out in our numbers and encourage our people to register," Mashatile said.

Meanwhile, members and supporters began leaving the George Thabe stadium in Sharpeville as rain set in.

People were making their way to the buses as the programme director tried to convince them to stay until the end of the programme.
