Health officials suspended for fraud

Durban - Three KwaZulu-Natal health department managers in the Ugu District were suspended on Wednesday for supply chain fraud and corruption, the department said.

"The department has suspended three officials for fraud and corruption pending investigations and disciplinary hearing," said health spokesperson, Chris Maxon.

They were among a list of people being investigated for fraud and corruption by the department.

"The department is following on the provincial government’s commitment to rooting out corruption."

Maxon refused elaborate on the allegations against them.
