Lamola removal a rumour, says ANCYL

2012-08-22 22:35

Johannesburg - The ANCYL has denied reports that its deputy president   will be removed from his position after a disagreement with its expelled president Julius Malema.

"We dismiss this rumour with the contempt it deserves and we are well aware that such malicious gossip is spread by those who want to drive a wedge and create division amongst structures of the ANCYL," it said in a statement.

The African National Congress Youth League had been inundated with media enquiries about Lamola.

The Independent Online reported on Tuesday that Malema wanted to "install" ANCYL national executive committee member Abner Mosase as acting president.

Unnamed sources told the Independent Online that Lamola had recently attended an ANC national executive committee lekgotla in his capacity as acting president, despite an agreement that he would not act in Malema’s former position.

The ANCYL denied that it had postponed a press briefing on Monday, following its weekend national executive committee meeting, because of internal disputes over leadership.

"The national executive committee of the ANCYL has recently concluded a successful meeting and the outcomes of such meeting will be communicated at a press briefing," it said.

The briefing was to be held at the ANC's Luthuli House headquarters in Johannesburg on Monday afternoon.

I thought Malema and Lamola were joined at the hip. One has a brain on the right and other a brain on the left, between the two they cant make sense of anything, one misleading the other. I thought Malema was expelled, why is he still calling all the shots. Come on ANC these clowns are making you look stupid. They are taking over, time to crack the whip and bring them down to earth and make them tow the line.

Lamola has had a taste of power at the top and no doubt likes it (He too now wants to be Big Chief). Things are about to get very interesting...

The ANCYL is the puppet of Julius Malema. When he falls the whole youth league will fall with him.
