Malema calls on white youth

2011-04-09 10:37

Johannesburg - White youth must participate more in the social and political life of South Africa, the ANC Youth League (ANCYL) said on Friday.

"We call on all white youth to begin to value and cherish the values of the Constitution and participate actively in the political and social life of the country," said president Julius Malema.

He was addressing the SA Union of Jewish Students (SAUJS) in Cape Town on Friday.

He was asked to address the question of 'Do the current institutions provide a sufficient platform for active citizenship?'.

Malema said South Africa has the best democracy supporting institutions such as the Public protector, human rights commission, gender commission, Auditor General, and the Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities.

He said "very few" white youth attend and participate in activities that celebrate national holidays such as Freedom Day, Human Rights Day and Youth Day "despite the fact that these are activities open to all people to participate".

He called on white youth to join the ANCYL and ANC and "contribute in building the ANC and the country".

"We say you should join and participate in the ANC because it is only the ANC, which provides a fair and reasonable space and opportunity to contribute to the development of our country."

    WOODWORK

      otiose - 2011-04-09 10:51

He says "begin to value and cherish the values of the Constitution", as if the white youth don't already. The bloody hypocrite agent!

      Judgmental - 2011-04-09 11:38

Maybe he has a point; the White youth should join the ANCYL, infiltrate the minuscule collective brain capacity, take over and make it redundant. It will only probably require two WHITES to do that job

      Enough! - 2011-04-09 11:54

Correct! White people have an historic place and right in south Africa and yes it is time that they should take an active roll again! Unlike all the twisting of historic facts that has been happening the last 17 years the whites didn't just come in and steal and plunder but they worked and traded. They also traded land from the tribe leaders so they could set up means to look after themselves the very reason Piet Retief went to see Dingaan to mention but one example! But something fishy in Malemas call to the whites and I wonder really what his intentions because he also encourages revelotion and hatred against the very same twisting and feeding the new generation with destorted ideas! So yes whites should get involved again and the first step is to vote for the truly only party representing the only hope for our country and that has become the DA. For me it's also DA all the way for the very first time this year come May 18 and I can't wait! The ANC has failed us all and is even committing crime against us all by stealing from especially the poor! Malema is also guilty of this and you just need to look at his lifestyle, the cars and houses! Malema DOES not represent the ANC of Mandela any more and it time we ALL wake up! Bitterness and greed will not help this country and it time not to call on those things again like Malema does but to all for what Mandela stood for! Time to realize this and do it! that's why it's DA all the way this year!

Anyone can see right through him!!! He is only saying this so that it helps him in his case that is coming up soon. If he looks like he is now embracing the white youth, he will get off scott-free. He has probably been advised to say all this by his legal team to help his trial.

      immelmap - 2011-04-10 07:35

We try to participate but AA is a tiny problem. lIKE A BLACK SPOT.

      1nawty0 - 2011-04-10 10:01

Actually, the people that support, freedom, human rights and youth Days are the FREELOADERS and un-employed looking for a free handout..... Most educated youths (white, black, coloured, indian, blue, pink) are attempting to get an education, and are mobilising and preparing themselves to give you the boot, as no educated South African will have you as their president.... ever.... so enjoy a few more years of power...!!

      paulf - 2011-04-11 05:50

I am afraid to say but majority of whites will never Vote for the ANC. They have learnt over the past 17 years that the ANC can not be Trusted. The current ANC is so corrupt under the Zuma administration as he himself is corrupt.

      JCTF - 2011-04-11 10:08

Malema is an idiot, and he got bad marks for woodwork, like he got for everything. The woodwork comment is unnecessary though. The isometric drawings we did at school had many of the so-called clever kids stumped. If you think the subject involved sitting there all day chiselling away at something then I suggest you further your own education on the subject. Accounting was seen as more of a "dumb" subject than woodwork in my day.

Bladdy cheek - he hates whites but I suppose desperate times call for desparate measures!

      Nicolai - 2011-04-09 11:17

I agree 100% He absolutely hates white people...this is just to stop the DA from nabbing all their territories and fixing up our country...

      Blougroen - 2011-04-09 11:37

Well - Malema espouses Black Afican Nationalism like his friend mad Bob Mugabe - whities just doesnt fit the profile now - do they - why bother calling on them ?????

      Gallows - 2011-04-09 12:40

He has a trial coming soon. This is just the noise resulting from him quaking in his boots.

      Zinki - 2011-04-10 06:54

He definitely didn't say it of his own accord. He was advised to say it by his legal team. He would NEVER say that because he detests all white people. Look at how he screamed at that white British journalist. That was just pure racism...

      Juan - 2011-04-10 07:19

"Shoot the boer.. shoot shoot". He must think the white youth in this country is as stupid and deranged as he are.Seems like the ANC is becoming really desperate.

      Podgette - 2011-04-10 11:59

@Gallows ~ "fear farts" just coming out of his mouth instead of his backside? haha, he really is an idiot! My profile pic says it all!

      bar-one - 2011-04-11 13:33

He wants us to look like him, ... I heard he got given a BEE share in a spray tan company.

  • Snoek - 2011-04-09 10:48

Sorry, the white youth is too busy participating in economic activity. How's got time for politics these days anyway?

      PilgrimX - 2011-04-09 12:23

More and more white youths are too busy looking for jobs, leaving no time to participate "in the social and political life of South Africa".

      resiststance - 2011-04-09 13:52

Exactly, who has time to participate in things like "Youth day" when they are busy working and trying to actually build the country. Save the celebrations for when/if there is actually something to celebrate.

      Juan - 2011-04-10 07:23

Sad part is that it's the politics that usually screws the economy up. It seems to be the way things are heading in this country

  • Adrian - 2011-04-09 10:50

Yes, yes, the white youth really want to join the ANCYL to sing Kill The Boer. Julius, good one, did you think this up while you were carving your Mshini Wami in woodwork class.

  • Johny - 2011-04-09 11:01

  • awwgee - 2011-04-09 11:05

I think he is right - WE SHOULD ALL JOIN THE ANC and then vote out the rubbish that is currently running this gorup of gangsters! The voters of SA will always blindly vote for this party, so if we - those that actually cherish SA and want it to succeed - join the and, then we can "take over" their structures and get rid of "fulius"

  • Tamara - 2011-04-09 11:06

  • AnanseYoYo - 2011-04-09 11:06

Malema is living in his own fool's paradise. On the one hand he wants to be a racist and hate and kill all white people but on the other hand he pretends to be a leader who adds something of value to the constitution. He is the biggest disgrace to the ANC. If only he had one ounce of the leadership qualities Mandela displayed people of other ethnic groups would show him some respect. Mandela had vision, pride, principles and backbone. Malema's actions this past week not only showed this great man complete disrespect but pronounced his own lack of vision and practical, positive plans to make a difference in SA. He says anything that comes into his head and he offends and insults the opposition instead of thinking, educating himself and speaking with wisdom and vision. Get your act together man, stop being such an embarrassment to SA!

      bar-one - 2011-04-11 13:37

      Mluluh - 2011-04-09 11:54

Assuming there is a sudden change of heart!!!! I think change is good. My problem with most views posted is that we seem to think that we understand the meaning of change, yet judging by the comments made, we haven't changed. Instead we sound like a very angry brigade. Comments and decisions taken through anger often misses the point. The discussion was about cherishing the constitution and contributing to social and politial dialogues.....Are we interested in the topic? It doesn't seem like. What are teaching our kids? Do we want them to grow up with the anger and bitterness that we have? Or we want them to build a different world not the one that we have been messing up!!!!!!!

      Perfume - 2011-04-09 12:13

      LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!! @Dave...I should of

      Killigan - 2011-04-09 13:23

@ Mluluh. I agree. There are angry haters here that do not want to listen to Malema. But I do not blame them. As far as I am cincerned I am still on his hitlist as a boer that has to be killed. So No, I will never have any respect for this being. He is not a human. He is a beast, hungry for power and does not care about people. People are his tools to rise to power. He uses them to create Animosity against the white people and encourages racism. I am not a racist, I love South Africa, I love all people born here. I do hate idiots. I call for the race law to be implemented, not for the colour of your skin, but for the idoitic statements that come out of ones mouth.

      Zinki - 2011-04-09 20:10

You are right. He is saying that because of elections coming up and because it will help him in his "shoot the boer" trial. I bet his legal team told him to suddenly appear to like whites.

  • CheekySod - 2011-04-09 11:09

The white youth is banned from the mainstream economy. They are made into second grade South African citizens. Now Malema want them to "participate more in the social and political life of South Africa". What does he think they are doing. Their lack of jobs give them plenty of free time. Ohhh... Malema wants them to partake in the ANC Youthleague version of "social and political life". Malema, get off the podium. There are better upcoming young comedians that can present a far better show than you. Booooo....

I nearly fell off my chair when I saw the heading "Malema calls on white youth" - in Afrikaans there is a saying for this kind of thing namely "tweegatjakkals". So firstly he wants the farmers to be killed (how many of them aren't fathers to white youth?) and now he wants the white youth to join the ANCYL? Wow...

  • sewsexy - 2011-04-09 11:13

What an idiotic little chop ! Does he really think that the white youth have nothing more intelligent to spend their time on than prancing around carrying badly spelt posters complaining about something or other or breaking / burning things like their black counterparts in society continually do ? Go catch a wake up, moron !

Once again, he did not think this one through before speaking up. Just saying something does not earn you respect, you have to say something of value Malema!

  • windreav3r - 2011-04-09 11:37

We are just waiting for the older generations to die out. They live in this country on emotions and past hatred. I frequently go out at nights and see youth of all races partying with each other. I myself have good friends of every dominant race in SA. We having times of our lives with each other, and can't wait for the older generations to to just move out of the way. We will be the ones to bring this country to the next level. It is just a matter of time.

      Margaret2 - 2011-04-09 12:43

The older generations are still working hard to provide for themselves and all the non-taxpayers. They don't have time to go out at night and party. In fact, partying together is irrelevant except for children and ageing adolescents. Will you still be getting on well when you grow up and life is no longer a party?

      arriewarrie - 2011-04-10 08:15

Why wait? Why not start now? You are a fool just like Malema. Go join the ANCYL!

  • Victor Sehlare - 2011-04-09 11:37

Comments from our white brothers are all understanable, but we should not overlook the fact that, the future of peace and fuctional SA needs us all to participate in shaping it. On the flipside imagine if we could come together and be part of SOUTH AFRICAN YOUTH LEAGUE...

      Margaret2 - 2011-04-09 12:46

The probelm is that not all are shaping it. Many are just holding out their hands and receiving. Welfare was never meant to be a career choice. It should just be a hand-up, not a hand-out!

      Juan - 2011-04-10 07:35

Look dude, the problem isn't in what was said, but rather who said it. If it came from Nelson Mandela it would have had credibility and it wouldn't have been ridiculed. The problem is that Malema and others like him is a joke, and we don't take anything what they say seriously.

      GREEN BEAN - 2011-04-10 10:26

@Victor. Good point you have, but when it comes to the ANC Youth League my memory goes back to the National Youth Development Agency's nine-day student festival themed "Let's defeat imperialism". I read this as saying: Let's defeat the white man. Oh, by the way the ANCYL were heavily involved (in monetary terms)in the R29m NYDA fiasco. Do you honestly think that the ruling elite-members of the ANCYL will allow any "boertjie" to join the organization as well as sharing in the financial spoils (salaries, perks, handouts) or do you thin the ANCYL will join a SOUTH AFRICAN YOUTH LEAGUE ? I don't think so my brother !

I'm white and I am with you on this one Victor!!

      wartmonger - 2011-04-11 12:54

@Victor you have made a good point we need participation but with this idiot Malema in the picture it will never happen. We feel completely ostracized by His rantings and speaches

      Safety4All - 2011-04-11 15:35

Victor, how are we supose to trust him or anything that comes out of his mouth? I have to wonder, tirst he sings ''shoot the boer'' and obeosly talk to his people very badly about the whites and he wants them dead, the black children hear all this and think it's right, it's aw to shoot the white people, is Malema invite the white yough to do what he sings?? Does he wants them to come to him for a bullet or to join the ANCYL????? Sorry, we can not gamble with our lives to find out, we will rather STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM HIM AS POSIBLE!!

      Other Justin - 2011-04-12 15:20

Good sentiment Victor. Unfortunately it is coming out of the mouth of a racist, incompetent oxygen thief. Him and his friends are not interested in anything except their own enrichment and power. Malema and the ANCYL are a cANCer in South Africa.

"...participate actively in the political and social life of the country." What he really means is participation in the ANC. These public events on national holidays are nothing more than ANC rallies.

  • Gurkan - 2011-04-09 11:38

This must be MA-Lema's WHITE TENDENCY!

  • AJ - 2011-04-09 11:38

They do participate in social / political spheres. they just have no interest in expressing support for the likes of you. Just because they totally disagree by and large in what you 'stand for', does not mean they are not interested.

  • whiteass - 2011-04-09 11:38

Yes Malema, why not support the ANCYL: 1. Their leader is as thick as a brick. 2. PUBLIC PROTECTOR: means prosecute everyone exept ANC. 3. HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISION we turn a blind eye to farm murders. 4. GENDER COMMISION: Great idea as long as it benifits ANC 5. AUDITOR GENERAL: What Corruption? 6. RIGHTS ON CULTUERE: Afrikaners have no fears. 7. RELIGIOUS RIGHTS; Cele thinks it,s a joke. I am sure the only reason the SALUS had you their was as a comedy act.

  • Gazza - 2011-04-09 11:39

The reason they don't go to the rallys is that all they get shoved down their throats s how the whites m0erd the blacks in the apartheid era - even though most of them weren't even born when these attrocities took place.

      kidblack - 2011-04-10 15:01

AND... it only directly affected a handful of people. The rest where living relatively free and secure in their villages and homelands. (im not justifying apartheid, im just saying those who did not experience it, A. have no right to claim personal indictment by it, and B. can blow things completely out of proportion.)

  • Hilbert - 2011-04-09 11:39

Most unusual comments from Malema, must be electionering time again!

      Mike Webber - 2011-04-09 11:45

That's all this is. The ANC has told their little dog to sit, stand, and walkies, and he's listening like a good little boy. Just wait till after elections again. This racist wolf will show his true colours... Very predictable ANC, and pathetic!

  • Revolution1 - 2011-04-09 11:39

Hahaha....he honestly thinks that after all the abuse that has been hurled at the whites over the years they are going to come flocking....hahahaha...aaaaahahahahaha...... I can guarantee you Malema that not one whitey will vote for you and your mob...it's too late the damage is done....you are a joke in the eyes of the whitey's. Go run up another enormous bar tab in Rosebank.....which I hear on some nights can be more than your supporters earn in a month. HYPOCRITE.

Sorry, just signed up - excuse the double post

  • Herbert - 2011-04-09 11:43

I am white and happen to have brain. these are not mutually exclusive. Malema, I cannot join you, reason, logic and deductive reasoning does not allow it!

  • Mike Webber - 2011-04-09 11:44

Malema is a white-hating racist !!! watch this snake !!! He sings songs that say 'kill the white farmers' 'kill the boers' he's a racist murderer !

  • Collins - 2011-04-09 11:45

Indeed they have to join this country belong to the too

      Martin du Plessis - 2011-04-09 13:58

Why do white youth have to join an ANC organization to belong to the country? They can just as well join the DA Youth and also belong.

      Other Justin - 2011-04-12 15:25

I would rather cut off my arm and slap myself with the soggy end. Joining the ANC is like joining your local baby killing satanist coven.

Does Juju have a girlfriend? Please let the brave ladies seduce the woodwork out of this mampara so that he can stay away from the sportlite. I think Malema will make a perfect couple with Helen Z, lol

      Radrodent - 2011-04-10 21:26

      Moenie boknaai praat nie man.

      Gatta - 2011-04-10 21:29

It is 'spot light' not sportlite. And he is NOWHERE near Mrs. Zille's league. He would count himself lucky if he had a quarter of her brains and leadership skills.

      BilboBaggins - 2011-04-11 09:16

Joko. What an INSULT to compare Malema with Helen Zille. Malema was too young to do ANYTHING for the struggle whilst Zille as a journalist UNCOVERED the previous Government's murder of Steve Biko. What a tosser!

  • coolwaynie - 2011-04-09 11:51

The wannabe 'war veteran' thinks he can influence normal healthy growing children and turn them into grunting illiterate imbeciles with no respect for themselves and others. How very ANC of him.

  • The Wonderer - 2011-04-09 11:53

"it is only the ANC, which provides a fair and reasonable space and opportunity to contribute to the development of our country." Yeah, the whites which they the ANC stop from getting jobs through AA & BBEE!?!?!?! WOW!!! FAIR????

  • philip.debruyn1 - 2011-04-09 11:54

Democracy is all about freedom of choice, also the freedom to choose whether to participate in events such as national days. Those days have a predominant ANC flavor, hence people who do not support the ANC don't feel to take part. ANC leaders like Malema should rather begin to change their own attitudes first, before they can hope to accommodate other South Africans. The ANC is not South Africa!

  • The Wonderer - 2011-04-09 11:55

  • Mluluh - 2011-04-09 11:59

Assuming there is a sudden change of heart!!!! I think change is good. My problem with most views posted is that we seem to think that we understand the meaning of change, yet judging by the comments made, we haven't changed. Instead we sound like a very angry brigade. Comments and decisions taken through anger often misses the point. The discussion was about cherishing the constitution and contributing to social and politial dialogues.....Are we interested in the topic? It doesn't seem like. What are we teaching our kids? Do we want them to grow up with the anger and bitterness that we have? Or we want them to build a different world not the one that we have been messing up!!!!!!!

      coolwaynie - 2011-04-09 12:07

If Malema had the education and basic debating skills of a man with reason and intelect one could be forgiven for jumping to any conclusion. Look at Obama and then look at the product of a South African childhood infested with slanted political ideology and an unwilligness to be educated properly...it's nothing short of embarrassing and shameful.

      Margaret2 - 2011-04-09 12:59

@ Coolwaynie - the last person we should be looking at is a liar like Obama.
