Malema supporters ridicule Mantashe
Johannesburg - Supporters of ANC Youth League president Julius Malema ridiculed ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe in songs at the start of the league's National General Council in Gauteng on Wednesday.
The group, who had arrived in a bus and moved toward the venue at Gallagher Estate, where the NGC was scheduled to be held, praised Malema and Deputy Police Minister Fikile Mbalula in songs, and ridiculed Mantashe and ANCYL deputy president Andile Lungisa.
"Gwede, what you are doing is not all right; Blade Nzimande, you are wrong." they sang.
Another song said: "Andile Lungisa, we put you at Luthuli House and all you did there was sleep, what's this stupidity, voertsek!"
They also sang that Malema should not fear because the power is his.
The crowd sang and danced to lift a dull atmosphere, while waiting outside of the venue as the start of the NGC was delayed.
It is understood that the congress would start later on Wednesday afternoon.
