Malema's name off ANCYL website

2012-05-02 08:13

Johannesburg - Expelled ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema's name has been removed from the organisation's website, according to a report on Wednesday.

But African National Congress Youth League spokesperson Magdalene Moonsamy denied any knowledge of this.

The website page that lists the national executive committee of the youth league on www.ancyl.org.za, has blank spaces next to the "president" and "secretary-general".

"We do not know who tampered with the website," Moonsamy told the New Age newspaper.

She referred to an earlier statement in which it was maintained Malema would remain ANCYL president.

Malema was expelled from the ANC last week following an announcement by the party's national disciplinary committee of appeal. He was found guilty of sowing division in the party and of bringing it into disrepute.

This was after he unfavourably compared the leadership style of President Jacob Zuma to that of former president Thabo Mbeki, and for remarks on bringing about regime change in Botswana.

ANCYL secretary general Sindiso Magaqa was suspended for a year. Magaqa was punished for making derogatory remarks about Public Enterprises Minister Malusi Gigaba, for which he has since apologised.

so high life tony is struggling to read other new but keep telling us that there are far more important news than Malema. your type is the one that makes news24 to keep giving us news about this great young leader.

      rbphiri - 2012-05-02 11:56

Look what is the use of the media? to report on news, take for example the racial tension that plagued most gyms in SA. Most people commented that those stories were not news worthy, but the problem went viral spreading to other gyms, if reporters did not report on such issues most people wouldn't know about such problems, and we would be asking ourselves why are our journalists are not reporting on such issues. News is diverse, if you don't like a particular story, don't read it, there are various other sections you can read. This story is important in the sense that the ANC wants nothing to do with malema, hence bringing up the debate of whether malema can make a political come back or not. But the chances are highly unlikely becoz there is no honour among thieves

  • jmoeti2 - 2012-05-02 08:41

  • Moses - 2012-05-02 09:04

It seems news24 is running out of stories to tell.

  • Collen - 2012-05-02 09:28

What is wrong with comparing presidents? You people think all is funny and you succeeded in destroying the young lion. What is going on anc? What is wrong with current leadership? Did Malema go to botswana? Then why punish him? You guys will regret this one day. On the news these days we just see what the rich thinks and do while the poor are ignored. We just see those who can drive having to fight for etolls. We just see how americans plan to destroy more lives. We presidents marrying for the 17th time. We never see how the poor and unemployed will one day live a better life. How the wealth can be shared. What radical change can we put into play. MANDELA IS ANGRY AT YOU FOOLS FOR REMOVING MALEMA.

      Stille - 2012-05-02 09:47

hahahaha - young lion? Old fatass ate the lion and is wanting seconds.

      collen.masetla - 2012-05-02 10:44

If Malema was or is a thief, he should be arrested by now...but because they are looking for political solution to arrest him...it is becoming difficult to arrest him. Rich? Is it wrong? When he gets oppotunity he must use it and get rich so that we take him serious...he leads by example, someone from shack cannot tell me he will make me rich and i believe that nonsense...the poor has no influence and they can change anytime as long as anyone promise them money.

      Steve - 2012-05-02 12:11

Wipe the poop from your eyes Collen. It astounds me that you think that it is ok for Malema to be corrupt and get rich so you can believe that he is legitimately fighting for the poor. It is those people living in shacks that should be told the truth about the thieving ways of Malema. Has it ever occurred to you to question just how it is possible that so many people got so wealthy in such a short space of time? Just look around you and observe just who drives the fancy cars and live in the fancy houses in posh areas. Then ask yourself where the money comes from??? Daily I hear the workers discussing and moaning about Malema and the cANCer government that has let them down. Use what little grey matter you have.

      collen.masetla - 2012-05-02 12:42

Steve...you are a fool. Why is Malema not having his day in court and get arrested if he is indeed corrupt? You guys continue to think people are blind while you are blind. Jacky selebi never lasted with bheki cele because they were corrupt....but why are people taking so long with Malema...he repeatedly asked for arrest but no one came forward.

  • Mike Purchase - 2012-05-02 10:00

  • Mandy Mc Donald - 2012-05-02 10:15

collen dont be a twat. I think Mandela is embarrassed about malemas utter disrespect and disregard for policy and rules. What Mandela envisioned for a democratic south africa was not corruption and what malema has done!

      collen.masetla - 2012-05-02 10:37

What rules and what policy? Mandela can also accept at this stage now that nationalisation must b a policy just like freedom charter wants it. Is there a rule in the ANC that say we must never compare presidents? Mandela was impatient and disrespectful for useless elders who were too slow for change politically and now economically Malema is fighting for the same. What are you talking about you fool?

      Steve - 2012-05-02 12:17

@Collen. I agree with Mandy. I'm sure that the level of crime, corruption and pathetic governance, is not what Mandela foresaw. How disappointed he must be.

      collen.masetla - 2012-05-02 12:38

@steve, please don't comment where i made a comment. Please, for the sake of peace please. You keep repeating what other people say so it means you can't think well on your own. I don't want to go to that level and continue to think poverty and unemployment are jokes. What method except nationalisation can help the poor?

      Kent - 2012-05-02 14:29

@ collen.masetla What about education to help the poor?

      collen.masetla - 2012-05-03 06:05

@kent...is education not there? How many universities in SA do u know? How many students who graduated and not working do u know? So should they eat their degrees?

  • Sello Mashile - 2012-05-02 10:23

Hahaaaa the more Malema is quite the more news24 is running out of stories

  • philip.moloko - 2012-05-02 10:41

it shows dat Malema is going down everyday thank you de mother body.#smiling#

  • collen.masetla - 2012-05-02 11:01

ANGRY ANC MEMBER. So you run around celebrate that Malema will be arrested? I thought if he was really guilty of corruption, he should be arrested by now.,,but because this is where political influence is taking place, they are still looking for political solution to arrest him as the hawks are just used as a puppet.\r\n\r\nIf Malema is rich and representing the poor, what is wrong with that you fools? Remember a poor person cannot in any way convice me that he will make my life better while he stays in a shack. So such people as Malema remain relevant as they become rich and not forget about the poor. The boy made donations to schools and churches. This boy will be saved one day, never celebrate another man's downfall as that might happen to you one day.\r\n\r\nPoor people have no influence so Malema had to be rich to remain relevant. Some of you fools never knew about the youth league until our Juju came to picture....now our youth league is featured on daily news. Poor people have no influence, so Malema will be back and be rich again. THE BOY WILL BE SAVED. POOR LEADERSHIP IN THE ANC LEAD TO REMOVAL OF JULIUS MALEMA... BUT THE BOY WILL BE SAVED.

      salani.hulela - 2012-05-02 11:19

      For sure mpiths!

      Brett - 2012-05-02 11:31

Why do you refer to a 30 year old as a boy?

      Ayanda - 2012-05-02 11:33

Forward ever! Back never! The fact is julius is factual, those who puting selves forward might kill him but his vision will remain. And the cowards will try to get the way establish them selvs at the expense of truth annoying, up with fyl.

      Collen - 2012-05-02 11:45

thank you comrade salani and ayanda @brettthe fool...my reason is becase he is younger than you.

      Kent - 2012-05-02 14:35

@ Ayanda. It is not his vision, it has been tried all over the world, with no success. He just happened to steal an unworkable vision. Education would have pointed him in the right direction, but alas, that is not possible.

  • nmateke - 2012-05-02 11:04

News24 is just obsessed with this Malema guy.....its annoying now

      collen.masetla - 2012-05-02 11:21

Then ignore Malema news and search what you think is relevant to you. Why do you even comment? Nobody forces you to read and comment. There are many many news that you can read on news24.

  • Collen - 2012-05-02 11:29

Here is a youth leader who was overwhelmingly chosen by the youths at a congress but is fired with ignominy simply because he has said a few unfavourable words concerning the leadership of his president. Since when has criticism been scoffed at in a democracy? Any organisation needs vibrant youths like Julius Malema. Youths simply need to be guided, educated, understood and given the right wisdom to operate well because, whether we like it or not, they are the leaders-in-waiting. Throwing such a great potential like Julius into the political wilderness is extremely unfortunate but we know good things can happen in the wilderness

      Steve - 2012-05-02 12:24

Unfavorable words????????? More like disrespect. Obviously you don't really understand the meaning of it.

      collen.masetla - 2012-05-02 12:32

Well, steve, even the Malema articles that you follow, will tell you unfavourable and none ever said disrespect. It is only those who want another term who will say disrespect and those who are in opposition parties.

      Krish - 2012-05-02 22:44

If he is soo good why doesnt he start his own party instead of begging the ANC to keep him.

      collen.masetla - 2012-05-03 06:01

He wants ANC not any other party. ANC is for us all and he has a choice and he made it, that is he wants to be in the ANC. He knows he was removed by a faction.

  • Collen - 2012-05-02 11:35
