Mathale in tender probe
Johannesburg - Limpopo premier Cassel Mathale's government is being investigated for alleged fraud and corruption leading into millions of rands, the Sunday Times reported.
According to the newspaper, the Anti-Corruption Task Team is investigating the claim from a group of disgruntled businessmen.
The Forum of Limpopo Entrepreneurs also wanted Mathale to be investigated amid claims that he influenced tenders in various provincial departments.
Secretary of the forum, Sivoko Mabunda, confirmed that members of the forum had been already interviewed by the Hawks in relation to the dossier.
Hawks spokesperson McIntosh Polela confirmed that allegations of fraud and corruption were being investigated.
"The case has to do with allegations of fraud and corruption, especially in the department of health and transport," Polela said.
