Mbeki to get fat increase

Cape Town - South African President Thabo Mbeki's salary is budgeted to rise to over R1m in the 2004/05 financial year, according to the Estimates of National Expenditure released on Wednesday. His salary was R924 000 in the last financial year, rising to R964 000 this year, according to the estimates. Deputy President Jacob Zuma will earn R821 000 in the 2003/04 financial year, up from R760 000 last year.
