Mpumalanga director general fired

2012-08-08 17:04

Johannesburg - Mpumalanga's director general of administration Jacob Rabodila has been relieved of his duties, the office of Premier David Mabuza said on Wednesday.

"The decision follows lengthy discussions and consultation between the two which ended with an amicable agreement," it said in a statement.

"All guidelines and frameworks as prescribed by the ministry of public service and administration have been considered by the premier to release the director general."

The decision was with effect from Monday. No further details were provided.

Mabuza thanked Rabodila for his contribution, leadership and guidance in the past three years.

The province's deputy director general for macro policy and planning, Thulani Mdakane, had been appointed to act in his place.

He was 'relieved of his duties', so it must have been something he did wrong. Anyone going to say what that was, or will he stage a dramatic comeback with pay for the missed weeks/months? I like what seems to be a clean-out before Elections, but I am worried if it is genuine and will be sustained.

Unfortunately with govt, it's not what you did wrong. He must have refused to approve a tender for a friend of premier or his JZ allies. If you do wrong in govt, you get promoted... Sad state (pun intended) of affairs

Only in SA can being fired be made to sound like it was a pleasant experience accompanied by loads of friendly chit-chat! Now the million dollar questions - why was he fired and where is he being redeployed to?

More of the tax payers money paid out for the miss management of Central government Employing and placing unqualified struggle buddies in provincial and local position. first he got paid by the tax payer per month for not doing his job, then the tax payer paid all his perks and to top it all the tax payer ends up paying the golden handshake
