Never surrender, says Julius Malema

2012-04-25 08:03

Johannesburg - Expelled ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema has left a voicemail message on his cellphone, saying he would never surrender.

"At the end of everything else, we will not remember the words uttered by the enemies against us but will remember the silence of our friends during these difficult times.

"Never surrender, never retreat, victory is certain," said the voicemail on Malema's phone, according to The Star newspaper on Wednesday.

He was expelled from the African National Congress on Tuesday evening, following an announcement by the National Disciplinary Committee of Appeal (NDCA).

Malema was originally suspended for five years for sowing division in the party and for bringing it into disrepute.

He was found to have done so by unfavourably comparing the leadership style of President Jacob Zuma to that of former president Thabo Mbeki, and for remarks on bringing about regime change in Botswana.

He unsuccessfully appealed, but was granted leave to present evidence in mitigation to the NDC. However, on February 29 the National Disciplinary Committee announced that the sanction against him had been changed to an expulsion.

He again appealed and it was this appeal that the NDCA dismissed on Tuesday.

We should bail Maleme out of his financial woes... we need him more than we need the DA. HE is the ONE to tear the Cosatu/ANC/Pac from inside, and no-one else. We need Julius Malema. Think, people, think.

I haven't read the text of his expulsion, but I understand that poetic words like "bloody Angent", "Bastard", "Revolutionary party", "Guards take this thing out", etc, where not used. He was merely thrown out after being informed that, as a small boy who cannot behave in a revolutionary house, he was too 'tjatjarag' and was told not to come back there no more.

  • frans.visserdsb - 2012-04-25 08:19

ok... this has now gone from the sublime to the ridiculous. how is the voicemail message of an expelled ANC member newsworthy? Slow news day? If his defiant attitude was not so sad, it would have been funny. JUJU, grow up. They don't want you. come clean with the dirty laundry - THAT would be news. For example, how did the Prez go from someone living on handouts from Shabby to building a R60million plus compound in Nkandla in a few short years? The Prez doesn't earn THAT much?

      Bless Boswell - 2012-04-25 08:32

Fran's, that is a daft question. He's the prez, he can do as he pleases. He behaves as he pleases, screws whomever he pleases, marries whomever he pleases and upgrades whichever home he pleases. You can't expect him to account for money spent, he's the prez!

      frans.visserdsb - 2012-04-25 08:55

@Bless - I really thought in my innocence that we are now living in a democracy, where people are accountable when they are in public office for spending public money...Then i woke up and realised that sadly we are just another Country in Africa being ruled by an inept kleptocracy, whose arrogance is such that they do not really care if people ask questions, because the masses will vote for them till the end of time.. I actually think the dumbing down of the education system is deliberate, very much like Verwoerd's apartheid education - keep the masses uneducated, and they will not know any better...Maybe the ANC expelling Julius is a good thing for the country, maybe he will come clean with all the corruption in the government out of spite. His followers may then realise that the ANC is not all they pretend to be...and his followers are the fanatical uneducated masses who will otherwise vote for the ANC until forever...

      Deon - 2012-04-25 09:32

He is now officially the Ex Pres. of the ANCYL, get the message now Bless.

      Schalk - 2012-04-25 09:26

pretty lame! just shows you again! we might be the minority, but were needed. let me explain it this way. 1 dog, plenty of ticks and fleas, but the dog carry them all and keep them alive. althought they give him disease,s if the dog dies they are all lost. make sense now?

      Schalk - 2012-04-25 09:33

if you are the 10 persent minority and your leading the 90persent majority, you must pesist of very good leadership! and knowledge that the majority doesn't have.... just to confirm your fact!

      Michael - 2012-04-25 10:03

@ Schalk. You saying that 90% of the people are stupid. Please get out from under the rock. We have international degrees. We were not allowed to study in our own country, becuase of people like you. You should be thanking for using our international skills positively in this country. It is still limited by you know who but liberty is near!!!!(Mangaung)

  • steveroodt - 2012-04-25 08:34

Well if he goes to court with the S.A.R.S thing he is going to play the poverty game and Legal Aid will be given to him and sad to say my friends we will be paying for this so he ends up winning again. Mr Malema wont' just go away. If convicted his reason to get out of jail will be he is diabetic and does not have long to live and needs to play golf and smoke Havana cigars .He has been selling off his possessions lately so the tax man cannot attach them and who knows where the proceeds have gone my guess is his trust account has been emptied too

      Foc - 2012-04-25 09:36

I will pay with a smile to see him keeping Bubba company in Pretoria Central!!

  • Rob - 2012-04-25 08:42

He forgot " We will fight them on the beaches. " The really sad thing is that he was not expelled for his remarks with regard to whites. Just shows how racist the ANC really is.

      Lerato - 2012-04-25 08:52

Was Madame Zille expelled for calling blacks from EC refugees?

      frans.visserdsb - 2012-04-25 08:59

Eish Lerato... She did not call blacks from the EC refugees... she said refugees from the failed education system in the EC is flooding the WC education system. anyway, calling someone a refugee is not a racist term. please tell me if the education system in the EC has not failed.

      Schalk - 2012-04-25 09:00

by saying \refugee\.....is being rasist???? was the word black ever mentioned? NO!!!! a white person can also be a refugee! like we are at the moment in our own country!

      Foc - 2012-04-25 09:40

Lerato ... you make me weep in silence .... *sob*

      Lerato - 2012-04-25 10:00

      Brett - 2012-04-25 10:49

Rob you are correct. It amazes me how many people missed that. He stood on stage next to Zuma and called all white people thieves.

      Jacqui - 2012-04-25 11:17

Lerato, where did she say black refugees?. You are one racist cookie, that's for sure.

WHY SO MUCH HATRED TOWARDS MALEMA?

      Don.Tandy - 2012-04-25 08:50

Because the moron spews out so much hatred himself. I don't hate him, I just wish that he would disappear forever and stop being such an embarresment to thinking humans.

      Rob - 2012-04-25 08:56

Because educated people DO NOT respect uneducated would be politicians, who encourage racial hatred. The fact that so many blacks support him, means that you support what he stands for, which would set this country back even further. That makes his supporters white haters & racists too.

      frans.visserdsb - 2012-04-25 09:01

@ lepo - you reap what you sow. Mandela showed love, restraint and forgiveness. Guess what he got back. Malema showed hatred and intolerance based on race... guess what he got back...

      nmabuyakhulu - 2012-04-25 09:42

Its more like when comrade JZ was suspended, leaving the party was the last option, most wrote him off(as it is now).they probably tried to silence him, but the results were a complete opposite, that's how cope formed. Mangaung might form CopeYouthLeague....

      Deon - 2012-04-25 10:01

He won't cope with Cope or IFP, maybe he will join Holomisa now. As he is no more connected he won't so easily get tenders anymore.

We wish him well in anything he may decide to do with his life. I hope one day he comes back but that time more matured and disciplined. Friends and foes must rally around him to gve support so as to assist him develop.
