2012-07-14 12:05

Kwadlangezwa - SA Communist Party secretary-general Blade Nzimande and his deputy Jeremy Cronin were re-elected unopposed on Saturday.

The results for the election of the party’s top office bearers were announced at the University of Zululand near Empangeni during the party's 13th national congress.

National Union of Mineworkers president Senzeni Zokwana was elected to the post of party chairman.

He replaced Gwede Mantashe who stepped down.

Solly Maipila was elected second deputy secretary-general while Thulas Nxesi was elected deputy national chairperson.

Joyce Moloi-Moropa was elected treasurer - she had previously been deputy chair of the SACP.

All six were nominated unopposed by the nine provinces and the Young Communist League.

      gngaleka - 2012-07-14 13:06

In what way do you understand democracy Million, contesting elections just to excersise your right or being free to excersize your right to contest when you have reason to.

Elected unopposed, tht means we don't have serious leaders with spunk to take them on.Mr Mandela said when tht is happening signals poor leadership.

      koos.meyer.52 - 2012-07-15 14:04

Blade is a great Communist, drives a R1.2m BMW 760iL - amazing hey, if he lived in a real Communist world he would be driving a 1962 Lada 1.1L. All Communists should be ordered to Google Joseph Starlin and discover how evil the system really is! HTF can a Communist Party exist in 2012??? Boggles the mind...

  • clement.mokone - 2012-07-14 12:59

Comrade Nzimande is leading us nowhere. There is no democracy within the party. Its about stomach and position politics. Its boring to see that SACP has abandoned its role of transforming the world into a better world through social democracy. Under Nzimande our party is used as a vehicle for him to vie for top position within the government. The YCL is no exception. Manamela is just a lame duck and he is apparently after better position. We are not blind. He is criticising Malema simply because he is doing zero or nothing significant for our youth and the country at large AND because Mantashe promised him a better job. \r\n\r\nThe whole world is under the capitalist scourge wherein jobs are scarce even in the centre of capitalism, Europe , where capitalists invest more so that they get their profit in full and are sure of that for, Europe is a good region for their investment following its low levels of crime and high tech advancements. \r\n\r\nAfrica needs better leaders who will work for the people of south Africa and Africa against the negative effects of globalisation. Nzimande is in favour of Zuma. What a disapointing leader in Zuma and what an embarrasment for the party or Nzimande to support such a leader. I think Nzimande is a dictator. Why was he unopposed. That is not democracy. THERE WAS intimidation. I don't support it. Kwaaa.

      koos.meyer.52 - 2012-07-15 14:07

Dude, google Joseph Stalin, Communism is a evil system designed to oppress the poor (never mind kill them if they show any dissent) and keep them even poorer. Wake up, this is 2012, not 1912!!!

      clement.mokone - 2012-07-14 17:35

Nzimande a true communist? U must be really joking aren't you? I think Stalin, Lenin, Karl Marx and Chris Hani are true communists. These have done exploits that show they were real communists, and Nzimande is not in this league for sure.\r\n\r\nU say we must mind our business. This is democracy and these \true communists\ of yours are part of our society and the decisions they take or make affect us whether we love or hate it. So you better bear this in your mind before you tell us to keep quiet.

      koos.meyer.52 - 2012-07-15 14:10

Fng idiot, do you know Blade drives a R1.2m BMW 760iL - Communsism at its best. Super rich leaders and F the poor. Google Joseph Stalin fool... Communism is one of the evilst system of Govt, worse than evin the Nazi regime. Wake the F up fool...

  • phuti.hlabane - 2012-07-14 16:55

Who shal save us from ths fools?

  • matlala.lesibajoseph - 2012-07-14 17:33

We are happy that SACP still find Blade to be adding value to South African politics. His re-election is magnificant to people like me who overhwemly support the second term of President Jacob Zuma. We also complement the leadership of Butimanamela. He is not greedy and driven by anxiety to harvest taxpayers's money for personal gratification. I guess he is a future presidential figure for both SACP and the country. What adds pleasure is that SACP conference was successful. It is time that power mongers from Limpopo under the leadership of Mathale and Ludere learn from SACP what it means to respect conferences. It is time that deputy president of ANC is elected from SACP. I am sceptical about the behaviour and perception of Kgalema. He never joined other leaders who condemned the behaviour of his followers led by Julius Malema and the so called friends of ANCYL. He is comfortable as they are paving his road to Mangaung. SACP prepare to lead the tripatite alliance. you are the custodian of discipline, respect, ubuntu, moral and ethical thinking. You are the hopes of voiceless people.

      clement.mokone - 2012-07-14 18:33

The other thing you should be careful of is that SACP should try by all means to be independent from ANC and carve its role meticously for,it seems the ANC is destroying itself just like the Kenneth Kaunda's party in Zambia, Arap Moi's party in Kenya as well as Julius Nyerere's dictatorships have faded away. \r\nThere is no liberation movement in the world that existed forever. So to say Jesus shall come while ANC is still rulling is a sheer desperation, much more because the ANC is plagued by factionalism and corruption. The service delivery demonstrations should be a warning sign to you. So when you say hope of the voiceless I wonder because the voiceless are talking against what you refer to be their voice.\r\n\r\nI cannot entertain your comment on respect and ubuntu because to say let's destroy the family unit is unethical neither it is ubuntu.

      koos.meyer.52 - 2012-07-15 14:20

Idiot, Communism is dead, the most evil system ever seen on earth- google Stalin fool!!

  • clifton.sebata - 2012-07-14 18:25

Does this mean that there are no potential and capable leaders in the ranks of SACP? or this is a case of Mangosuthu leading IFP until jesus comes? JUST ASKING.

  • enoch.mokhothu - 2012-07-15 07:59

Cant' these communists contest elecions independently? That is why the say we want Zuma, without Zuma they are dead. Can someone tell me the relevance of communism in South Africa?

  • winifred.watson.9 - 2012-07-15 13:12

The SACP is a joke. The carpark was amass with the most expensive cars these SACP drive. The turn up dressed to the nines, expensive suits etc bling jewellery all their fancy ipods, camera's etc. Since they want all the wealth to be divided. Lets see who much of their wealth they are willing to give up. They believe that if they support zuma they can control the master puppet. They want to turn our counry into a comunist country but they surround themselves with wealth and enrich themselves with bling from the western world.
