Reinstate Malema: ANCYL

2012-05-07 16:00

Johannesburg - The ANC Youth League has vowed to stop at nothing to have expelled leader Julius Malema, suspended secretary general Sindiso Magaqa and spokesperson Floyd Shivambu reinstated.

"The leaders of the ANCYL should be reinstated," national working committee member Abner Mosase said in Johannesburg on Monday.

"If they [the ANC] do not reinstate them, we will not stop trying. We will continue using all our available internal mechanisms.

"Every time they [the ANC] meet, we will be on their backs persuading them to listen to this logic."

The ANCYL was briefing reporters after its two day national executive committee (NEC) meeting at the weekend.

Undermine ANCYL's autonomy

Deputy secretary general Kenetswe Mosenogi said the league was calling on the ANC's leaders to intervene in the national disciplinary committee of appeal's decision to expel Malema and suspend Magaqa and Shivambu.

"The observations made by the NDCA undermine the autonomy of the ANCYL," said Mosenogi.

"[We] demand immediate reinstatement of our leaders.... We reaffirm they remain our leaders.

"The NEC... calls on the leadership of the ANC to decisively intervene and provide a political solution. We will continue to challenge the outcomes internally in the ANC until the national conference in December."

Asked if the ANCYL thought the ANC would listen, Mosase said it was confident that "supreme logic and content" would prevail.

Mosenogi said the ANCYL was confident that ANC leaders would reinstate Malema, Magaqa and Shivambu.

"We are relying on the constitution of the ANC to resolve the matter," she said.

Remain disciplined members

ANCYL deputy president Ronald Lamola said the league was still in touch with Malema and that he, Magaqa and Shivambu remained disciplined members and supporters of the ANC.

"No one is defining themselves outside of the ANC. Nothing stops us from talking to these comrades."

The ANCYL said Malema was respecting the NDCA's decision and was not attending any ANCYL meetings, but remained their leader.

Mosenogi confirmed that the ANCYL's treasurer general Pule Mabe had been removed from his position.

"The NEC had lost confidence in the treasurer general. As such, the NEC resolved to release the TG, Pule Mabe, from his duties... with immediate effect."

Mosenogi said Mabe had not been suspended from the ANCYL, but was no longer the treasurer general, or a member of the NEC. She said the reasons for stripping Mabe of his title would be presented at the league's national general council soon.

Its obvious that the 3 mucousteers are sitting behind it not so sure who D'Artagnon is at this stage . I think seeing that a lot of comparisons have already been pointed out between the ANC and the Apartheid system the ANC will now have to stick to their guns and throw the 3 renegades in jail for conspiracy against the state ( spelling correct)

      Buzz - 2012-05-07 16:49

      Johan - 2012-05-07 17:09

Pathetic if you have to rely on one person only. Have you got no one else that can fill his shoes?? Makes me wonder how efficient the ANCYL is if they have got no back up plan, and no other "leaders" that can take his place. So in essence you are saying Malema = ANCYL. Very bad reflection on the organisation!

      Gavin - 2012-05-07 17:14

stupid people make stupid children like you and your hero the human enema. Julius will never amount to anything, as there are bigger meaner idiots drinking from the cANCer trough.

Just read the quotes from the ANCYL and tell me that they are not funny. Go on I dare you. I hope they are around for a long time. They bring such comedy to an otherwise serious news world. The ANC top brass don't even take them seriously anymore Hahahahahahahaha....

      Compos - 2012-05-08 10:12

Using "supreme logic and content" in the same sentence as ANC. I will rather have this as the 7th natural wonder in the world and not table mountain.

  • Arthur - 2012-05-07 16:06

Thus article lost me at "... until they listen to this logic"

      craig.a.salter - 2012-05-07 16:37

Best laugh of the day "Asked if the ANCYL thought the ANC would listen, Mosase said it was confident that ""supreme logic and content"" would prevail."

      Sean - 2012-05-07 19:29

These idiots still don`t know what the words``economic freedom`` mean and now they go on a learn a new word ``logic`` !! Way to much for those imbeciles !!

  • siyadyosiba - 2012-05-07 16:08

Kids are playing and the parents are not home yet. Wait till they get home, you will stop your nonsense. I like Malema as a Comrade and a fighter but I hate his ill discipline and disrespect towards elders and other people. Leadership doesn't allow space for the ill disciplined. Sorry ANCYL

      Mary - 2012-05-07 16:16

Please, isn't there a proper word for 'friend' or 'associate' in any of our indigenous languages you could use? 'Comrade' is SO Eurocentric.

      siyadyosiba - 2012-05-07 17:24

no he is still a comrade but a very ill disciplined one.

      indianajohn - 2012-05-08 00:21

siyadyosiba, that's the thing. It doesn't matter what they believe or what they want to fight for, nobody will listen to them while they have this infantile, destructive, utterly mannerless attitude. I may not share your opinion on how to run the country but I'm always prepared to listen to the opinion of people who express themselves in an orderly fashion. The ANCYL may as well start campaigning for free houses and cars for all white people and everyone would still be laughing their heads off. Until they realise this, they will achieve nothing but further division of the country they pretend to love so much.

      Chanté - 2012-05-08 01:00

@mary, stop using such BIG words if u want a relevant reply lol

  • Masenyetsi - 2012-05-07 16:08

The real issues are not attended ANCYL is fighting other peaple's battles instead of coming with a solution on how they can develop and help SA youth ,but there have no time for dat it thier own positions, We very tired of those guys .there are all over 30

      Arthur - 2012-05-07 16:12

Exactly, and for all the millions they spent on rubbish what have they actually achieved for the unemployed youth - nothing - but Malema and his cronies have nice fat pockets.

  • Don.Tandy - 2012-05-07 16:09

Is there just no end to the sheer stupidity of the ANCYL.

      Paul - 2012-05-07 16:44

Howzit Don, see my comment above! (exkma)

      Don.Tandy - 2012-05-07 18:38

Hi Paul - looks like the troll/News24 twats have been at work, deleting anything that is too close to the truth, like what a bunch of moronic twats the ANCYL are - lets see how long this one lasts

      gary.clark.376 - 2012-05-08 14:06

Dude as long as they have a mouth they will have a place to keep their feet.

      Clayton Richard Delport - 2012-05-07 16:22

Your comrad has how much money, businesses, and you have what? You say to the expense of the white man? You dumb ignorant fool, he shouts racism so you won't see he robs your people blind, he is so stingy he didn't even want to pay his garden service.... Just shows you, just as long as you can blame the white man you don't care to evolve or better your lifestyle, rather have nothing and blame the white man.... Oh wait your ancestors still had nothing when the white man came.... Mr westerner wannabe you sound like a hypocritical white basher....

      Mike - 2012-05-07 16:42

Howard your response is pathetic and underwhelming, don't push blame the whites mantra unless it has significance otherwise you know the story of cry wolf, rings hollow!

      adrian.marais - 2012-05-07 21:31

I pity you. Listen to yourself you are blinded by racism.your leaders are ass f@cking you and you still blame whites... Really?

      Chanté - 2012-05-08 01:05

Shhhhh! Pls let Howard and frends continue blaming the white guy! Once they start blaming each other, the fighting starts. Just look anywhere in Africa what happens next! Please go ahead Howard, blame the white guy. lol

      owamin1 - 2012-05-07 20:31

@Sganja - I am fascinated by how the ANCYL NEC summarily relieve Pule Mabe of his TG seat, without any due processes or hearings conducted. Yet you cry foul when the ANC - after following a long (even exhausting) process of giving Juju numerous opportunities to present his case. How do you reconcile these two? When the ANC expells Juju you say he'll remain the President until the next NGC because he was elected at conference. What about Pule? Why do you apply different standards?

  • Samuel X L-zee Xs - 2012-05-07 16:27

Reinstate Him. ANCYL I'm totally 100% down with y'all he needs to come back and lead his fellow comrades. ''The future of ANC''Mr. Malema truly deserves a second chance. As for me I've supported him from the start we need people like him in South Africa. Nt like some pupits who afraid of change in this beautiful Land. Again He must be Reinstated till 2014.

I have lost count and apparently you cannot count at all.

  • henk63 - 2012-05-07 16:53

The ANCYL is a festering sore that need to be healed. If it can't be healed it must be removed by surgery. They have not been a Youth League for many years now, interfering with the machinery of State, Goverment tenders etc. FFS, they are all grown u but still call themseves youth? They have no mandate to carry on like they do, and the brainless ANC should dissolve the YL NOW, otherwise this putrid boil on their ass will infect the whole body.

  • paulgerber969 - 2012-05-07 16:53

  • Johan - 2012-05-07 17:08

My concern here : People get replaced in companies all over the world, everyday. Companies and organisations do not need one person to operate a company or organisation. Does the Youth League have no succession plan? Are they all so useless that only Malema can rule the organisation?

      Isaac - 2012-05-08 01:15

I wonder what type of leadership the Youth league has, people who dont even understand the words they use and the processes they claim to follow. The ANC of this generation will be doomed, I dont think people will even dare to vote them to government. Ayeye, its cold outside the ANC, and now winter has just arrived.... You remember these words "Mbeki is going" Mbeki will not be the president of this country when we go to elections"now Mbeki is still an ANC NEC member and those who uttered the latter are out in the snow winter of the Eastern Cape,

  • Grace - 2012-05-07 17:13
