Swearing in ceremony done in secret

2011-06-01 21:21

Johannesburg - The swearing in of councillors and a mayor at Madibeng local municipality in the North West had to be held at a secret location after ANC members disrupted proceedings, SABC news reported on Wednesday.

"The inauguration of councillors went ahead as planned. It took place at the Brits Magistrate's Court offices," Madibeng spokesperson Patrick Morathi told the broadcaster.

"It happened there because there were some disruptions by some groupings of people. But however, I can indeed confirm that all councillors were sworn in," he said.

ANC members disrupted proceedings because they were apparently not happy with the people being appointed, alleging that some leaders of municipalities had failed to provide basic services to its residents.

They also claimed that some officials were linked to maladministration and corruption.

Sheep, this is the reason that some voted for change so that people like you can get a chance to go to school and learn to read, write and comprehend. I do not blame you for that cos it is self induced with all that hogwash and indoctrination that your masters constantly feed you with...i would like to say that you are reduced to a point of being a stooge but then that would be insulting to the stooges(i love that movie) so i will resort to calling you a zombie and you "know" that those creatures are scary...your sense of comprehension lives little to be desired on this cold Thursday morning. Wake up and smell the roses not the socks that you have been smoking.

  • sainsaudi - 2011-06-02 07:53

Hence the absolute need for the ramming through of the Info Bill. Under this bill, those protesters would have been quietly taken away and never be seen again. This information would be classified. These are signs of a party that's desperately clinging to power. Study South African history and see what the National Party did to cover their tracks in the 60s, 70s and 80s.This time, though, it's black on black. But the whites will still somehow land up being the scapegoats. In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king. This time its the brown eye that the ANC is showing the nation - the one between the bum cheeks.Remember the ANCYL conference in Bloemfontein a few years back!

  • Esperanza - 2011-06-02 08:12

But the ANC promised that they would sort out the candidates after the election, remember? "Just vote for us anyway, come on, don't worry, we'll change it later." LMIMP

      naromi@24.com - 2011-06-02 10:27

they did say after the elections and are keeping to their word. They just did not specify which elections and in how many years time.

It is for these reasons that some people voted for change unlike like Sheep, it was so that people like him/her can get a chance to go to school and learn to read, write and comprehend. I do not blame him/her for that cos it is self induced with all that hogwash and indoctrination that his/her masters constantly feed Sheep with...i would like to say that he/she is reduced to a point of being a stooge but then that would be insulting to the stooges(i love that movie) so i will resort to calling Sheep a zombie and you "know" that those creatures are scary...your sense of comprehension lives little to be desired on this cold Thursday morning. Badballie - 2011-06-02 10:54

I agree with your sentiments, we can no longer afford these ignorant idiots whose only purpose seems to be causing as much trouble as possible, but I do blame people like sheep if for nothing else he has managed to waste the last 17 years, instead of trying to improve himself he has quiet obviously spent his time standing in government hand out ques

  • steve - 2011-06-02 10:02
