Winnie: Julius and co not visiting me

2012-02-04 14:15

Johannesburg - There was no undertaking by ANC veteran Winnie Madikizela-Mandela to be visited by the ANC Youth League at her Soweto residence on Saturday, her office said.

"There was no communication made with any of her offices regarding this visit," a statement said.

"Mrs Madikizela-Mandela has been on leave from all her duties and responsibilities after having undergone a knee operation on January 25 2012."

The Mandela family asked that the media respect their privacy to assist in Madikizela-Mandela’s recovery.

On Friday, youth league spokesperson Floyd Shivambu said its leaders would visit Madikizela-Mandela after hearing the outcome of their appeal.

The National Disciplinary Committee of Appeals was due to make an announcement on the outcome of Youth League leader Julius Malema's appeal and that of his executive on Saturday.

The ANC's national disciplinary committee (NDC) found Malema guilty of provoking serious divisions in the league's parent body, the ANC, and of bringing the organisation into disrepute.

Last year, Malema said the league would send a team to Botswana to consolidate local opposition parties and help bring about regime change.

He was suspended from the league for five years, and told to vacate his position as president of the organisation.

Charged with him were Shivambu, deputy president Ronald Lamola, treasurer general Pule Mabe, secretary general Sindiso Magaqa and deputy secretary general Kenetswe Mosenogi.

Yep ... saw this one coming!! JuJu is no longer useful to her now that he lost his appeal!! had he won the appeal it would have been completely different!! It would have been party all the way and the knee operation would have been forgotten about!!

I think the ANC saw, and realises, how many super black people out there, are very ashamed of this man. He brings down the image of black people, same as the way in which white thugs will always succeed in bringing down the name of decent whites. People do seem to lump everyone together whenever a single person out of their ilk misbehaves. I do sincerely hope that savvy will prevail.

What is wrong Winnie? Julius lost his title so he is not worthy of your presence now! Of course…you only socialise with those in the mainstream…not the fallen…Right!

  • Michael - 2012-02-05 06:47

Time for extreme caution here, Julius may have been removed from ANC Christmas card list but he still has the support of the majority of SA's lesser informed youth - a not insignificant force. Oh, by the way, I'm reliably informed that Winnie The Unclean's knee operation was a simple replacement - the old one was worn out begging for cash...

  • duncan.cramer - 2012-02-05 07:12

out of curiosity: which government run hospital was that knee surgery performed at?
