Johannesburg - ANC stalwart Winnie Madikizela-Mandela is "doing well" and is still recovering in hospital after breaking her wrist last week, the ANC Women's League said on Tuesday.
"The... league is pleased to report that Comrade Winnie Mandela is doing well in hospital and her condition is much improved," spokesperson Troy Martens said in a statement.
"She has never stopped to take a break from the hard work she does and has done throughout her life. We hope she will be back to good health in no time at all and ready to continue with her valuable contribution to the organisation and the country as a whole."
Madikizela-Mandela was taken to hospital after breaking her wrist, her daughter Zindzi Mandela said on Saturday night.
She fell on Thursday.
The name of the hospital was not disclosed, and her daughter asked for the family's privacy to be respected.
