Zille to court over Malema 'defamation'

Johannesburg - Lawyers for Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille will approach to Cape High Court on Tuesday in a bid to speed up a defamation case against ANC Youth League president Julius Malema.
"It's related to case from two-and-a-half years ago of a defamation case against Julius Malema... among others," her spokesperson Jordan Hill-Lewis said on Monday.
He said the actual merits of the case would not be heard, but it was a bid by Zille - in her personal capacity - to force Malema to submit court papers.
"It's taken a long time to come to court because the respondents in the case have refused to file their responding papers... [It's a move] to compel them to respond.
"If they still don't then the case proceeds without them," he said.
The matter relates to comments including that Zille had concubines in Cabinet.
