Zuma, Malema at same Easter service

2012-04-08 17:59

Johannesburg - President Jacob Zuma attended the ZCC's Easter service at Moria outside Polokwane in Limpopo on Sunday as a guest of honour, but did not speak at the event, said presidential spokesperson Mac Maharaj.

"President Zuma was invited by the Bishop of the church as a guest of honour," said Maharaj.

"He was paying respects to the ZCC who number about 1.5 million people and who come from all over South Africa and beyond Zimbabwe."

Zuma was accompanied by International Relations and Co-operation Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane and the acting premier of Limpopo, Dickson Masemola.

Embattled ANC Youth League president Julius Malema also attended the same service at the St Engenas church, the SABC reported.

    So?

  • TheRealTruth - 2012-04-08 18:17

I am so sick of reading about Zuma and Malema's teenage angst. It is honestly like my 14 year-old-daughter and her on-again, off-again friendships with other kids. They must simply kiss and make up, or part ways. But don't for one minute think that it was coincidence that they were at the same church. I bet it was all planned, but JuJu was told to sit separately, otherwise the 'evil media will write stories'.

      Kingpin - 2012-04-08 18:26

Do simple thing - just don't read the article! I quess you failed to contain ur curiousity on Z and M issues

      TheRealTruth - 2012-04-08 18:37

@Kingpin you have missed the point my friend. I am not complaining about the article, I'm complaining about the fact that these two morons are hijacking our country to fight their prissy little battles, while we bend over to be screwed by e-tolls, high petrol prices, rampant crime, corruption of the highest level in our totally inefficient government, and not to mention high electricity prices. Do not show your ignorance by assuming that when people complain about an issue within an article, that they are saying they would rather be in the dark about it. Chop.

      Sam - 2012-04-08 19:47

aaaaah what supporters , supporters are in the structures of the anc PECs and anc formations, nt at moria and wits in actual fact the deal has been signed an sealed the results of mpum yesterday was a deciding factor, nothing more Malema should stop wasting money , should channel that funds on poor youth without jobs , forget about stressing himself

      Eric - 2012-04-10 06:33

U are almost right, JZ was there for wives and JM as a home town gui, he wanted to make sure that JZ not take his girl.. Finish and klaar! What else as they r not church goers.. And the media just doing business..

  • Athoko Shasha - 2012-04-08 19:51

I bet the tension was so thick u could have cut it with a knife. We all knw dat Zuma & malema are nt church going pple, their attraction de was due 2de numbers and wanting support for Zuma(a second term ad president.Malema(enough support so dat he wont b ousted out of de ANC)After all we all knw dat de is power in numbers.

      justice.mpho1 - 2012-04-08 20:27

The ZCC constitutes about 30% of illiterate adults,if you score those voters...it's self-evident that your dominant.Zuma knew how to decieve the masses with a smirk on his face

      Maggy - 2012-04-08 20:32

Malema did that yesterday at a different church and even asked the bishop and church members to pray for him,but believe me u at a ZCC he doesn't stand a chance

  • patrick.moilaseema - 2012-04-08 20:01

I hope if thy both nt take an political relationship to the Church

  • Amos Morwape - 2012-04-08 20:10

Im in moria and yes is true what news24 reports.our Bishop teased both Zuma and Malema and told Malema to respect elders and to love every citizen of this country.

      justice.mpho1 - 2012-04-08 20:22

Tease in church?,wow thats new...Malema didn't listen to the NDC of the ANC,what makes you think he will bow to your bishop?

      Dawn - 2012-04-08 21:49

      Amos drive safe back..

  • Nombuso Sangqu - 2012-04-08 20:31

      Phalane - 2012-04-08 21:09

  • Lerato - 2012-04-08 21:32

Pple moria is a church jst lyk other churches so i don't get it gore y ur so suprised dat Pres Jacob Zuma n Malema whr thr.

      siphosgubu - 2012-04-08 23:07

      Chris Thapelo Maphome - 2012-04-09 03:28

am i da only 1 who sees da resemblens btwin our Bishop and Patrice Motsepe?he aslo cums often at Moria

  • Thabo - 2012-04-08 21:43

Mr Nelson Mandela n Mr Thabo Mbeki hv both attended da service before n nw is it an issue when Mr Jacob Zuma does da same?infact it's nt da 1st time he attends 2da same church...sabc jus wanna make dis a big deal 4nutin jus bcz julius malema is also der!!!sabc pls do da South Africans a favour n report facts nt assumptions!!!

      Eric - 2012-04-10 06:23

What I do know about SABC is, they mean business and since they know most Africans likes things.. They just exagarates they stories for business purposes and left the public with many qustions that will block their mind set! What is wrong to go to church? Irrigadless who attended.

      Martin - 2012-04-22 10:16

dis politics is jst foolin us african youth,hw cn malema fight with zuma yet dey attend church 2geda,mathematically it tells us sumting, there is no smoke without fire!sumtin wil cumup, watch de space.

  • Jabulani - 2012-04-08 22:05

To gain a competitive advantage over your rival or enemy, u have to be at least 1 second ahead. It seems like Malema knows this principle.

  • siphosgubu - 2012-04-08 23:15

Church is for every one juju or zuma r free to attend, however these two r currently talk of the town so cameras will follow them every where they go.

      Eric - 2012-04-10 06:05

Myself I see that, there is nothing wrong 2of them attending including others, its good and let them keep it up but it will be total wrong once they start practing political affiliation inside the church..

  • Gugulethu - 2012-04-09 08:12

      Shaylene - 2012-04-09 11:51

Just because they go to church doesn't mean they are Christians. If you go to Macdonalds it doesn't make you a hamburger.

      Shaylene - 2012-04-09 11:51
