The Von Ortloff name originates in 1686 with the family being raised to the peerage in 1866. Georg and Evi Schlichtmann, owners of Von Ortloff, have a direct link to this illustrious history with Evi being the granddaughter of Dr. Max Kurt von Ortloff.
My Wyn is best described in the context of wine production as "small is beautiful." From the smallest cellar, overlooking the Franschhoek Valley, Jacoline Haasbroek produces 2000 bottles p.a., enjoyed by a following from across the globe. My Wyn's main focus is on Shiraz and Viognier, but not being trained as a winemaker, Jacoline makes a learning wine every vintage with 2007 and 2008 being a Sauvignon Blanc.
Since acquiring La Brie in 1988 Jane and Basil Landau have restored the main homestead and redeveloped the vineyards. The first owner of La Brie, Jacques de Villiers, settled here in 1689.
