About Polokwane

Polokwane is the capital city of the Limpopo province. The city lies roughly halfway between Gauteng and the Zimbabwean border. Polokwane is situated 1 200m above sea level and the diverse landscape makes it an ecotourism hub.

The discovery of world renowned archaeological sites, the Transfrontier Park, and game reserves attract tourists from around the world throughout the year. The other key economic sectors include agriculture and some of the world’s largest platinum, vanadium, chrome, titanium, and copper reserves.

The city has a semi-arid climate with a summer rainy season and a pronounced dry spell during winter.
