Cape Town - A local Apple distributor has launched an online bookstore aimed at school children and teachers in South Africa.

On Wednesday, the local Apple distributor Core Group launched an online store that carries a range of textbooks that can be read on an iPad.

All grades are covered, and Core is in the process of rolling out more books, in addition to the 600 at launch, appropriate for teachers and learners.

Core told News24 that 180 schools are using iPads in education.

In addition to curriculum books, the website also offers study for various subjects and prices are up to 25% cheaper to physical books.
