Cape Town - Global internet giant Google is hiring and they're looking for internet savvy South Africans to join the company.

In an advert placed online, Google announced that it is searching for people who can devise campaigns that will "establish solid contacts with journalists, co-ordinate face-to-face meetings with commentators and other opinion formers", says the ad.

Google is on a drive to increase its South African footprint as the company expands its Street View navigation products as well as a number of enterprise services.

The communications manager position requires "extensive experience" and attention to detail.

Google was recently named the world's most valuable company when its brand value increased by 40% to $158bn, overtaking Apple's which declined by 20% to $147bn.

Technology companies make up four out of the top five brands.
