Cape Town- This year, artist Mikhael Subotzky joins Brett Murray, Roger Ballen and nine others for the 2013 Wavescape Artboard Project, raising funds for ocean charities at the Wavescape Surf Festival.

12 artists have confirmed participation in a unique surfboard art exhibition on Wednesday 27 November 2013, that culminates into a charity auction a week later with comedian Rob Van Vuuren. Last year, almost a quarter of a million rand was raised. Beneficiaries were the NSRI, Shark Spotters and the Isiqalo Foundation’s Waves for Change programme.

The surfboard for 2013 that forms the canvas for the artists comes from a new innovation in surfboard design – the Shred Stick, a 6’0 high performance shape.
