Comair's process to honour FlySafair tickets

2013-10-11 13:03
Johannesburg - Following the interim interdict granted against Safair Operations (Pty) Limited (‘FlySafair') earlier this week by the North Gauteng High Court, which prohibits the sale of tickets and FlySafair from starting with its operations, Comair Limited will take all reasonable steps to accommodate passengers with a FlySafair ticket.

"During the interdict hearing, Comair offered to honour tickets purchased on FlySafair and this has been granted as one of the conditions of the court order*. Comair has finalised the process FlySafair ticket holders should follow to be helped on British Airways (operated by Comair) and flights and has already processed a few hundred bookings," confirms Iain Meaker, Commercial Distribution Executive for Comair.

To get re-accommodated follow the below procedure:

Step 1:

- Contact FlySafair to receive a full refund of the flights booked.

Step 2:

- Call the Comair Contact Centre between 08h30 and 19h00 on 011 921 0205 or 010 492 2230 with your FlySafair reference number. Alternatively, email your request to

A few things to keep in mind:

-  You may need to provide a copy of your original FlySafair flight confirmation document; this can be mailed to:

- Comair will do its best to have you travelling on the original day you booked, but may not be able to guarantee times due to scheduling and availability.

- Comair may accommodate you on either of its brands or British Airways (operated by Comair) at the same price as originally paid to FlySafair.

- The new booking will be made in the same name and for the same route as originally booked with FlySafair.

- No name, date or route changes from the original FlySafair booking can be accommodated.

- No flight changes can be made after the British Airways (operated by Comair) or flight has been confirmed.

- You will receive your new British Airways (operated by Comair) or flight confirmation once your new booking has been paid for.

- Any extra bags, pre-paid seating or travel insurance will need to be requested at time of booking and paid for separately.

- Please take note of your new departure and check-in times and feel free to make use of the online check-in or self-service check-in facilities.

- You cannot arrive at the airport on the day of travel, without adhering to the above process. Comair strongly advises that you book as soon as possible or at least 72 hours prior to your original scheduled time of departure.

- Once your flight has been confirmed, the respective airline's conditions of carriage and terms and conditions will apply.
