Family kicked off flight over tweet

2014-07-24 09:23
Cape Town – It seems like tweets have been getting lots of people into trouble while travelling this week.

First there was Maisie Williams from Game of Thrones who complained about British Airways not allowing her into their business lounge at Heathrow due to her being under 18.

Then there was the teen who posted a smiling selfie of herself in Auschwitz, which had a lot of people upset.

Well, now a man from Denver claims that Southwest Airlines kicked him and his two daughters off one of their flights over a complaint he tweeted.

Gawker reports that Duff Watson, as an A-List Southwest Member, is allowed to board flights early. But apparently, the gate agent refused to allow his children to board early with him.

He took to the micro-blogging site to air his grievance with the situation.

While his account has been made private, the tweet read something along the lines of: ‘Wow, rudest agent in Denver. Kimberly S, gate C39, not happy @SWA,' Watson told ABC news later on.

Shortly after sending the tweet, Watson and his kids boarded the plane, only to have the already awkward situation escalate even further.

An announcement was made on the plane that Watson exit the aircraft. After leaving the plane with his daughters, he claims to have been approached again by the same gate agent.

She apparently asked him to delete the tweet, as it was a security threat.

The three were only allowed back onto the flight after she had watched him remove the tweet.
