Fog lifts at Cape Town International

2013-05-24 12:01
Cape Town -  Visibility has improved as heavy fog caused Cape Town International Airport to grind to a halt on Friday morning.

"Visibility has significantly improved and flights are now once again able to land at the airport. To date we have already had a number of flights arrive and on the depature front a host of flights have also been able to depart. The push now is to get as many flights moving as possible and to get back on schedule, " said Deidre Davids, communications manager for Acsa at Cape Town International Airport.

Inbound flights to Cape Town had to be diverted due to the poor weather conditions and knock-on effects caused outgoing flights to also be delayed. Diversion airports range from OR Tambo George, PE,  and Upington.
