Johannesburg -  Kenya Airways and South Africa’s only privately-owned low fare airline kulula have announced a bilateral code share agreement to connect the carriers’ networks via OR Tambo International Airport.

The agreement was announced in a press release which states kulula intends to place its code (MN) on the multiple daily Kenya Airways services between Johannesburg and Nairobi.

While Kenya Airways intends to place their code (KQ) on all South African domestic routes currently serviced by kulula. These include Cape Town, Durban, George and East London

"We are excited to be working with kulula and look forward to further expanding the relationship to include more travel options in the future,” said Gerard Clarke, Commercial Director at Kenya Airways.

Stuart Cochrane, Executive Manager Business Process for kulula.com says, “The code share agreement with Kenya Airways is an extension of the interline agreement we entered into in 2013 and is in line with kulula’s medium-to-long term strategy to grow our distribution footprint in Africa in a sustainable manner whilst at the same time providing more choice for our customers.”

Bookings will be available for sale from today, Thursday 10 April 2014.  Visit Kenya Airways or kulula.com for more info.
