SAA flight to Hong Kong the 'worst flight ever'

Cape Town - South African Airways spokesperson Tlali Tlali has confirmed 17 passengers and 3 flight crew have been injured during severe turbulence on Flight SA286, en route from Johannesburg to Hong Kong.

The airline said it was awaiting more details about the severity of the injuries and the overall well being of the passengers and crew on board the flight.  

In the meantime a News24 Travel Reader Dylan Haskin tweeted this link of his friend Ewald Sadie's Instagram pic.

It shows a gaping hole in the roof of the plane, with the caption: 

"Worst flight ever. Crazy turbulence sent people flying everywhere.

Guy next to me made this with his head.

Lots of passengers with bumps and scratches and a few serious spinal injuries.

I'm all good but fucking terrified."
