SAA now all Virgin on its Australia flights

2014-03-05 09:10
Cape Town -  South African Airways (SAA), has announced it is extending its new code share on Virgin Australia’s domestic services, to include Sydney.

In February, SAA ended its code share with Quantas, effective as of 31 May 2014, and  announced a new codeshare agreement that would allow SAA passengers to fly with Virgin Australia from Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide to connect to its service out of Perth.
SAA’s Country Manager for Australasia Tim Clyde-Smith said the extension was a logical expansion in the airline’s relationship with Virgin Australia.

Clyde-Smith said the new move means SAA passengers would be able to check-in and use boarding passes from Sydney through to South Africa and onto any destination in Africa served by SAA, as well as through-check their baggage and earn miles on the SAA Voyager frequent flyer programme.

Tickets will go on sale immediately for travel as of 1 June and are subject to regulatory approval.
