Skywise launch date postponed

Cape Town - Skywise has had to delay its initial launch date but this has not deterred the new low cost carrier's preparations, Tourism Update reports.
The low-cost airline, established by ex-1time founders, did not receive its Air Service Licence last month as hoped, due to a request by the Department of Transport for additional information.
The DoT told Tourism Update that once Skywise submits the additional documents, they would not have to wait till the next ASLC meeting for a decision to be made, but that the Council will sort it out as soon as possible.
Skywise originally earmarked 1 March as their launch date, but this is no longer attainable.
"The beginning of March was our target date with the assumption of being issued an ASL at the beginning of the year. As soon as the ASL is hanging on our wall we will set another target launch date," says Skywise co-founder, Rodney James.
Skywise has already recruited management staff, office space in Cape Town and finalised its branding, but the rest of the team will be recruited once the launch date is confirmed.
