Mango to launch flights to Zanzibar

2013-02-05 08:45
AfricaStay, in association with Mango, has signed a contract to operate charter flights to Zanzibar from 12 March.

The charters, operated with a B737-800, will operate on Tuesdays, with a same-day return in a similar time slot to the Zanzibar flights formerly operated by 1time. The aircraft has capacity for 185 passengers.

Cobus Vermeulen, sales and marketing director for AfricaStay, told Tourism Update that the flights would be well priced and would be cheaper than indirect services and that it would be possible to book flights only. A Saturday-operated flight is also planned over December.

Precision Air is the only other airline to operate the route from South Africa with a Friday flight from Johannesburg (JNB) to Zanzibar.
