While many people often express the wish to be a ‘fly on the wall' in other people's strange lives, hotel concierges are about as close to the real deal as you will find... and somehow manage to keep a straight, non-judgemental face.
Australia's Gold Coast Tourism board, who also act as a go-between for guests and accommodation, recently released their top 10 bizarre requests made by hotel guests.
We check out the five weirdest as listed on IBTraveler
1. A Middle Eastern royal family had no qualms in requesting a herd of alpacas, a domesticated species of a South American camelid.
2. Another male guest wanted the best of both worlds when he asked for two rooms on two different floors - one for his wife and one for his mistress.
3. Two hotel staff members were dragged into an elderly couple's nuptial vow renewal to fulfil the role of best man and bridesmaid.
4. When a well-off guest had to leave Australia in a bit of a hurry, he asked hotel staff to sell the luxury sports vehicle he had bought.
5. In an over-the-top romantic move, a male guest asked some hotel staff to wear t-shirts saying "Marry Me" when he proposed to his girlfriend.
