Nairobi - An unidentified body was discovered on the runway at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta airport on Wednesday, interrupting operations for 40 minutes, Kenya Airports Authority said.

The male body was estimated to be between 10 and 12 years old. Police believe he was a stowaway, KAA said.

The incident did not disrupt air traffic, except for a Turkish Airlines aircraft being held up in the air for a few minutes. A police investigation was underway.
