Most expensive holiday ever?

2013-03-26 15:13

London - Luxury London travel agent, Hurlingham Travel has launched a brand new holiday offer for two people with extremely deep pockets - a £990,000 (R13mil) ‘trip of a lifetime.'

TIME reports that the trip, arranged in conjunction with, will cover the best parts of 1 000 ‘bucket list' destinations, including Cambodia's Angkor temples, the Forbidden City in Beijing, the pyramids in Egypt, Machu Picchu in Peru and Monte Alban in Mexico.

According to Andrew Barker, managing director of Hurlingham Travel, they've received three enquiries about the trip so far. "We have to take it day by day until we get to a point where we know it's getting serious so we'll need to take a small non-refundible deposit in order to create the itinerary because it's an extensive amount of work," he told the magazine.

But fear not: if you're one of the interested parties, you'll be resting up in style as only business or first-class travel is being used for all flights while you'll stay at some of the world's finest hotels.

All the UNESCO World Heritage Sites will hopefully get ticked off on the epic journey and a donation of £5,000 (R70 000) is included in the hefty price. In total, some 150 countries will be visited though ‘VeryFirstTo' does mention that "only destinations that are safe and pragmatic to visit will be featured."
