London - A group of tourists were left cold, wet and in shock after a London Duck Tour boat caught fire on the Thames opposite parliament in central London on Sunday.

The Telegraph reports many of the 30 people on board the amphibious bus jumped into the river in order to escape the flames.

Firefighters were alerted to the blaze on a London Duck just before midday on Sunday and a fire boat was dispatched. Many of the 28 passengers on board the vehicle jumped into the Thames to escape the flames and were rescued by police, the fire brigade and a passing boat.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan police said one woman had been taken to hospital with minor injuries but all the passengers and both crew members had been accounted for.

London ambulance service said seven people were also being treated for smoke inhalation.
