Thailand's nationwide curfew lifted

Cape Town -  Tourists will be relieved to know that the Nationwide night curfew that has been in place since 22 May 2014, has been lifted.

Thailand Tourism Authorities confirmed the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), currently overseeing Thailand’s administration lifted the ban on Friday.

Marking a return to normality for the country’s tourism industry, the night curfew had already gradually been revoked in provinces and popular tourist destinations.

The midnight to 04:00 curfew was fisted lifted in Pattaya, Phuket, Ko Samui, Krabi, Hua Hin, Cha-am and Phang-nga.

Thailand tourism said further curfews are not expected and  

Thawatchai Arunyik, TAT Governor said, “The nationwide lifting of the curfew is assurance that things are moving forward here in Thailand, that tourism has not been disrupted and the famous Siamese smile has not dimmed.”
