Kruger cracks down on drunks

2012-06-18 15:15
A group of men has been thrown out of the Kruger National Park because of drunkenness, the park said on Monday, Times Live reports.

According to William Mbasa, the four men arrived at the Phalaborwa gate in Limpopo on Sunday in a minibus and claimed that they were going to visit an employee friend in one of the staff villages.

He added that the men were allowed to enter free of charge, but that the security guards noticed that they had not headed in the direction of the staff village.

"The men were located around the park and brought back to the gate where they were requested to pay a conservation fee, which they did," said Mabasa."

At this point, the guards noticed the visitors were not sober, and told them to leave.

"We could not refund the men their money because they had to pay for the time they had spent inside the park," Mabasa said.
