Top travel videos: hungry whales, awkward naps

2013-07-26 10:23

Check out our round-up of awesome travel videos from the week, including a super awkward in-flight nap as well as divers almost being devoured by whales. VIEW

Known as the great migration, hundreds of thousands of wildebeest make their way across the plains of Kenya's Masai Mara and Tanzania's Serengeti on an annual basis. This great trek of sorts is one of the iconic events in Africa, attracting tourists from far and wide every year. It's as grueling and dangerous to the animals involved as it is spectacular to those watching from the side.

In the first video for this week's top travel video round-up we take a look at absolutely spine-chilling, goose-bump giving timelapse footage of wildebeest crossing the daunting Mara river. Definitely worth a watch if Africa runs deep in your soul.

Sticking to the wildlife theme, our second video choice shows what happens when a lioness gets really annoyed. Watch as the angry queen of the bush chases a male counterpart right away with snarls, growls and some powerful paw work. The sighting was captured on the H10 near the old Muntshe waterhole near Lower Sabie in the Kruger National Park in South Africa.

Last, but not least, there's a new way to see Paris! And it involves getting onto a Zeppelin... yup, like the infamous Hindenburg. However, as this video shows, the new balloon-like aircraft seems pretty safe and provides incredible views of the French countryside as well as its capital. Take a look.
