FRESH! Definitive drone video captures Thailand's undiscovered islands

2014-07-02 16:27
The use of drones as a means to capture travel experiences has come under scrutiny lately, especially as the Civil Aviation Authority seeks to regulate Unmanned Aircraft Systems.

Philip Bloom, an accomplished British filmmaker, known for his DSLR film-making says, "Anyone can grab a Phantom 2 and zip it up in the air, make it zoom along really fast and then bring it back down.

"The skill is control and getting the composition of your shots right. After all how many of you when you get a camera stick a wide angle on it, hit record and then run around for 20 minutes without looking at what you are shooting? EXACTLY!!"

Take a look at this video of the tiny Thai island of Koh Yao Noi, one of Thailand's least developed islands - it details Bloom's advice and technique, perfectly illustrating the possibilities of drone videos in the right hands.
