Cape Town- Have you ever stopped to think about what your travel luggage says about you? Well, if you haven’t, the chances are, someone else has.

Today’s Travel Talk on Twitter presented a fairly interesting topic: Luggage- Suitcases and Backpacks.
The responses from some of the participants were informative and quite interesting.

Durability or prettiness
When asked about which is the most important thing one looks for when shopping for luggage gear, most of the ttot community agreed that durability is the best thing one should go for. One traveller even commented saying:

Good point, @houseluigi !
The backpack also came in as a travel luggage favourite:

Brands are not THAT important
In the ever increasing need for brands to stand out in pretty much every field, the travel community seemed to agree on one thing- when it comes to luggage, brands are not that important. While there were a few standout travel luggage brands mentioned, there seemed to be no common thread, or no common go-to  travel luggage brand.

But Twitter user @kengawne, did throw in a recommendation:

Don’t judge a traveller by his/her luggage

One of the most interesting questions was probably this one:
Do you instantly judge a traveller based on whether they are using a backpack/suitcase? How?
Most of the travel community reassured one another that judging one from what kind of luggage they use, is a no go ,BUT, one can form opinions (this is not the same as judging- apparently) by looking at one’s luggage.

Like this:

All in all, we were reminded not only of how great Tuesdays are, but also that there are millions of people out there who are in love with travelling and exploring the world. Happening every week at 11:30 (SA time), the chat is run by a few of the world's top travel bloggers, such as Travel Dudes, Roni Weiss and Runaway Juno; aimed at getting travellers from all over the world to share their experiences.

How it works: A new topic is introduced every week, so stay in the loop by keeping tabs on the TTOT Facebook group. The discussion is formed of five different questions relative to the topic. Each question is numbered; Q1 - Q5, with a couple of minutes for responses to each. In order to respond to a specific question, begin your answer with A1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, of course including #TTOT so you're included in the stream.
