Cape Town – One of the world’s most famous wave pool entrepreneurs has let it slip that Cape Town may get its own surfing wave pool in the very near future.

Wavescape reports that wave pool designer and board shaper, Greg Webber of Webber Wave Pools told Australia Surfing Life of his plans to design pools in South Africa and Florida, if his project a project he’d launched in Queensland turned out to be a success.

For the Australian project, it has been reported that Webber signed a memorandum of understanding with surfing entrepeneur David Baird for the company’s first installation at a site in Southeast Queensland on a property owned by Baird. The pool is set to open in September 2015.

The Cape Town-based wave pool is expected to have a fairground/water park element to it, which would attract a wider market.
