Cape car guard becomes YouTube hit

A tourist uploaded a video of car guard Alen Abrahams, a 31-year-old of two, dishing up his lyrics in true Cape Flats style to Youtube about a year ago.

The video caught the ear of Heart 104,9 presenter Aden Thomas who then invited him in for an interview and his Afrikaans renditions of pop songs, from Justin Beiber’s “Baby, Baby" and Sean Kingston’s “Beeautiful Girl” have since been causing a sensation. reports Alen appeared on the Morning Breakfast Show on Friday with Thomas of Heart104,9FM ande when asked about his music he said, "My music consists of what I see in my community. At the same time, I want to put a smile on your dial."

Over three days his videos received more than 15 000 views on YouTube. Take a look
