If you're travelling to the Kruger National Park in the next few days, you may want to pack an extra cooler box or two, as the staff at all camp restaurants are on strike.

The park sent out a press release earlier today warning visitors about the strike saying:

"All the guests travelling to the Kruger National Park (KNP) are informed about the strike by Compass Group employees in the park. Compass Group is responsible for the management of restaurants in the KNP."

All the camps are affected except Mopani and Punda Maria in the northern part of the park.

They added that discussions are being held with Compass Group management.

In the mean time contingency plans have been put in place and temporary staff have been hired to assist with operations for the duration of the strike.

For the latest updates on the strike guests can check with the manager on duty at the restaurant.
