Roads closed due to Madiba's passing

2013-12-06 08:35

Cape Town - A number of roads in Cape Town and Johannesburg have been closed to accommodate events marking the passing of Nelson Mandela.

Hundreds of South Africans have gathered at Nelson Mandela’s home in Houghton, Johannesburg, to pay their respects to the former President. There is a high police presence and roads leading to the home have been blocked off.

EWN reports that in Johannesburg there are road restrictions along Central Street, 3rd, 13th and 11th Avenue around Madiba’s home. Drivers can expect delays.
