SAT appoints Regional Director for Americas

Johannesburg - South African Tourism has appointed Monika Iuel to fill the newly-created position of Regional Director: Americas.

Iuel has spent the last 13 years in senior management positions in the tourism industry and is expected to bring a wealth of experience to the SAT team.

"The United States in North America is currently South Africa's second largest tourism market, while in South America we have seen exciting growth and potential from markets such as Brazil. With her vast experience and considerable management skills, we are confident Monika will do an outstanding job of working with our country offices, support personnel and critically with the tourism trade in the Americas to build on the current growth," said South African Tourism Chief Executive Officer, Thulani Nzima.

Iuel has also expressed her excitement, stating that she looks forward to playing her part in "taking the message of our beautiful country to the world."
