Brrr! First winter snow in the Western Cape

Check out these pics of snow across the Western Cape.

Cape Town - After a few sublime and sunny mid-winter days, Cape Town can prepare for a serious bout of cold later this week.

According to a weather update on Snow Report's Facebook page, Table Mountain could see a covering of 11cm of snow on Friday night.

"We are busy checking the storm arriving later this week, and came across this prediction from We don't believe that we have ever seen a prediction over 6cm for the top of table mountain. They have predicted 11cm at this early stage," the post read.

Snow had been predicted for Table Mountain early in June, but the tourist attraction seemed to have missed out that time round.

However, this time round it sounds like adventurous Capetonians can start gearing up for a chilly adventure.
