Pics: The Boss strikes a pose in the Bo Kaap

2014-01-29 11:59
Cape Town - Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band took some time out between rehearsals earlier this week to explore the sights and sounds of Cape Town.

The Boss, as he is affectionately known, wowed fans with his opening show on Sunday night at the Bellville Velodrome, starting his performance with a moving tribute to the late Nelson Mandela

Capetonians have been spoiled with no less than three shows (all of which were sold out within hours), the last one taking place on Wednesday night, while Johannesburg can look forward to a once-off performance on Saturday, 1 February.

Having received numerous tourism accolades in the past few months, it's no surprise that Cape Town wooed Springsteen and his band into a picturesque adventure or two.

A blog post on Springsteen's official site showed the rocker (who, by the way, looks incredible for his age) and his band exploring the streets of the Mother City, visiting locations such as the vibrant Grand Parade, stately town hall, colourful Bo Kaap, and of course, stunning Camps Bay at sunset.

Check out the images by Jo Lopez below and head to the Springsteen site to see the rest.
