Snow on Table Mountain

Yes, it's snowing in Cape Town... again. Take a look at these pics of the mountain's white table cloth this morning.

From planking to dwarfing world-renowned landmarks through distance manipulation - novelty travel photo memes are all the rage. And the Waterfront has added a fun element to capturing the perfect pic of yourself with Cape Town's very own New 7 wonders nature, Table Mountain.

A large picture frame, which provides an iconic view of one of nature’s New 7 wonders, has been erected as part of the Table Mountain N7W legacy project

This 2.8m tall by 4m wide, yellow frame produced by local artist Porky Hefer, is a permanent interactive artwork that provides visitors with the perfect vantage point for taking a picture of themselves, friends and family with Table Mountain, as a spectacular backdrop.

The frame has also been nominated to be included on the list of sites to visit as part of World Design Capital 2014, and is the first in a series of N7W legacy frames to be installed throughout Cape Town.

“We are delighted that visitors to the V&A Waterfront will get to interact with the frame in the build up to World Design Capital 2014; it is a wonderful way to celebrate nature’s perfect design of Table Mountain,” said Sabine Lehmann, CEO of Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company.

Have you taken a pic of yourself with the frame as yet, we'd love to see - email us at or tag us on instagram.
