Tsitsikamma: Striptease trail

While attractions such as Amsterdam's Red Light District or the Moulin Rouge in Paris might have you expecting something completely different - the Striptease River Trail deep in the heart of one of South Africa’s most ancient and beautiful indigenous forests isn't that kind of attraction.
The River trail which consists of 11 natural rock pools, set along 5km of this spectacular Garden Route forest, is managed by the Tsitsikamma Lodge and Spa. Home to 32 free-standing log cabins, each with its own private garden, spa bath, deck and braai area - it's easy to feel like you're tucked away at your very own secret location in the middle of nowhere.
Because the trail is booked and then reserved exclusively for you and your partner, privacy is guaranteed.
Each of the 11 pools are said to be named and guests are encouraged to have a bit of fun with this, discarding more and more items along the so-called striptease trail:
The first crystal clear rock pool is known as the Pebble pool. Continue your journey in getting back to nature by moving on to the Honeymoon pool, followed by the waterfalls of the Cataract pool.
Things start to get more exciting at the Bikini pool, then it's on to the Topless pool, the Bottomless pool (a-hem), the Halfway pool, the Boobs pool, the Fantasy pool and, finally, the rather crudely named Kaalgat pool.
The unique setting in completely natural surroundings makes this freedom to just be highly sought-after.
Those not so interested in uncovering the places where the sun don't shine might want to consider other fully-clothed activities in the area such as bird watching, horse riding, tubing or even an adrenalin-fuelled tree top canopy tour.
